Finish:
A very old nitro refinish on the guitar body in its original color of blue. Neck has it’s original finish with some over spray on the back of the neck (front and back of headstock remain original with no overspray).
Fingerboard Radius:
7.25" radius, ‘Veneer’ Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, recently refretted with factory spec fret wire.
Nut Width / Neck Measurements:
1.61”(40.9mm) wide at the nut / .86"(21.9mm) deep at first fret, 1.02"(26.1mm) deep at twelfth fret. Neck is stamped 8JUL65B. ‘8’ is the code for Mustang, ‘JUL65’ denotes July 1965, and ‘B’ is the width of the nut.
Weight:
7 lbs, 4 oz. (3.29 kg) A nice lightweight example.
Electronics:
Original Grey Bobbin Single Coil Pickups - Bridge: 5.53k ohms, Neck: 5.56k ohms (both pickups dated 8/25/65). Original Pots that date to 1965 (see photos). Ground wire has been replaced.
Hardware:
Replaced single-line Kluson tuners which are relic replacements. The original Tuners will be included with this guitar. Pickguard screws have all been replaced as well as the pickup adjustment screws. One strap button has been replaced.
Modifications:
Old body refinish, back of neck overspray, replacement Kluson tuners, replaced pickup adjustment screws and pickguard screws, one strap button has been replaced, some wiring has been replaced (see photos).
Case Details:
Comes with original hardshell Fender student guitar case (with "Mustang Sally" written in sharpie by a previous owner).
Included:
Original hardshell Fender case, original tuners, the original bone nut, and a newer tremolo bar (although the guitar is set up to be hard-tail at the moment).
