Lilac Guitar Lounge is excited to offer this 1983 Fender Stratocaster ST-62-65 model, made at the esteemed Fuji-Gen Factory. This guitar is a wonderful example of the early “Japanese Vintage” models made from 1982 to 1984, combining high quality Japanese workmanship with Fullerton-made Pickups. These guitars are highly collectible and for good reason, as they are some of the finest reissue guitars on the market these days! This one comes in Olympic white, and has a custom ordered neck plate, as was available to customers in the Japanese market in the early ‘80s. This guitar is a wonderful player, as well as a collectible piece, so don’t miss out! We are so stoked to have this special instrument in the shop, so don’t hesitate to contact us and ask any questions you may have about this listing.

Year:
1983
Finish:
Original Olympic White thin polyurethane finish, that has slightly yellowed over the guitar’s 43 years of life. There are some blotches from play wear on the body, that we photographed as well as we could. Amber polyurethane on the neck that is in good condition as well. The “65” sticker is present on the back of the headstock denoting the price of this model (85 and 115 being the other options at the time.)
Fretboard Specifications:
7.25 inch radius vintage-correct “Slab” Rosewood fretboard with clay dot markers, that has been played a decent amount. The original frets have about 40% of their life left in them.
Nut Width / Neck Measurements:
1.67”(42mm) wide at the nut / .82" (21mm) deep at first fret, .97" (25mm) deep at twelfth fret. Neck heel is dated in pencil “5-24-83.” The truss rod moves but only has a couple turns left- the neck is stable with good relief, and the guitar plays great with the current low action.
Weight:
7 lbs, 8 oz. (3.4 kg)
Electronics:
Original Fullerton-made Stratocaster pickups are intact and amazing on this guitar! The pickups read 5.5k ohms at the bridge pickup, 5.7k ohms on the middle pickup, and 5.7k ohms on the neck pickup. Original Noble Japanese pots and wiring. The 5-way switch is a newer replacement.
Hardware:
All original hardware is present other than the bridge and tremolo block assembly. The neck plate has no serial number as it is a custom order neck plate with the name “Tomoko Kawasaki” engraved on it.
Modifications:
Replaced 5 way switch, bridge/tremolo unit replaced, no tremolo arm included. 1 replacement pickguard screw.
Case Details:
Original Japanese Vintage gig bag is included.

Gig bag, older pickup selector switch, backplate.
