Lilac Guitar Lounge presents this 1983 Fender Japanese Vintage Stratocaster ST-62-85 in ‘Candy Apple Red.’ This Strat was built during the “golden era” of Fender Japan, at the renowned FujiGen factory. These Fender instruments rivaled the finest of Fender guitars being made in America at that time, and some of them even surpass that quality in playability and sound. These early ‘80s reissues are some of the absolute best guitars from Fender outside of the Golden Era Fender instruments from 1950 to 1970. This guitar has been played but well kept by a loving owner and musician, and came directly from Japan to the US, offered here for the first time! It features American Vintage ‘62 Strat pickups, a spot-on ‘Candy Apple Red’ finish, and a rich, dark rosewood fretboard. The ST-62 had 3 quality levels offered by Fender Japan in the ‘80s: “55,” “85,” and “115” and this is a “ST-62-85” as denoted by the decal on the back of the headstock. The guitar has signs of significant play time (including the fretboard) and some dings on the body that you’d expect from a 40 year old instrument, but is in fantastic shape nonetheless. This is a magnificent Strat that won’t break the bank but will provide an amazing studio or stage instrument for its next owner.
