This Strat has all the classic 50’s specs and appointments, including its maple fretboard, sunburst finish, single ply pickguard, and 50s style single coil pickups. This guitar came out of the legendary FujiGen factory in Japan where so many amazing and well-crafted reissue Fenders were made in the 1980s. This one is a bargain compared to some of these Japanese reissues which have become very highly sought after, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the feel and tone of this guitar. Original two-tone sunburst finish; polyurethane finish on neck and body.
Fretboard Specifications:
7.25” radius maple Fretboard on a one piece maple neck. The frets appear to be original, and are well worn but play comfortably with medium action.
Nut Width / Neck Measurements:
1.6”(42mm) wide at the nut / .93" (24mm) deep at first fret, .98" (25mm) deep at twelfth fret. This is a fuller neck than most 57 resissues and is more of a C shape than the V neck you would find on most 57 reissues.
Weight:
8 lbs, 3 oz. (3.7 kg), a nice midweight example. The weight suggests this is an alder body (rather than lighter-weight basswood) but we’re not 100% sure on this particular guitar.
Electronics:
Original late 80’s Japanese stratocaster pickups. The pots appear to be original and solder is unbroken (see photos).
Hardware:
All original hardware besides the tremolo bar, which is a replacement.
Modifications:
Tremolo bar replaced, switch tip replaced.
